The series was a collaboration including Johnson Matthey, Engelhard, and Casa de Moneda (The Mexican Mint). The series began in 1985 with Johnson Matthey releasing the first coin. Both the Engelhard and Casa de Moneda were released the following year.

All three rounds are virtually identical with the exception of the mint marks. After 40 years, they’re still among the most highly sought after rounds, with some selling as high as $100. Although the Engelhard and Matthey, are more common, the Mexican Casa de moneda coin is extremely rare.

This 1985 Johnson Matthey is in remarkable condition. No toning or spotting and no signs of defects to the naked eye. As with all of our coins, it arrives in a brand new, Direct Fit capsule.
