The Serpent of Milan was attributed to the Visconti family of Milan and was featured on their coat of arms. The family, known for their cruelty, rose to power in the Middle Ages for a short period.
The coin’s obverse features the coat of arms of Samoa. The reverse features a rendition of the serpent of Milan design. It depicts a slithering heraldic snake devouring a small child. Although it’s a beautiful design, it has had mixed views over the years… The coin arrives and encapsulated and factory sealed on the signature Scottsdale mint cardboard backing.
