Una was a character from a famous British poem, “The Fairie Queene”. In a scene from the poem, Una is shown pointing the way forward to a lion. Famed artist William Wyon designed the original Una and the Lion struck on the 1839 gold coin from the Royal Mint.
The 2021 is the 2nd release of the series. The obverse is graced with the fifth Effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The reverse features a new design by engraver Glyn Davies, capturing the beauty of Una and the raw power of the lion.
The stunning coin has a mintage of only 1500 proofs and would make a great addition to any coin collection. It arrives in a custom fit capsule and housed in East India’s signature clamshell display case. It also includes the certificate of authenticity and information booklet. |
