The Walking Liberty first debuted in 1916, on the U.S. Half Dollar. Production ended in 1947 as it was replaced by the Franklin half dollar. The Walking Liberty is considered one of the most beautiful designs ever struck. In fact it was chosen to grace the obverse on the famous American Silver Eagle
. The obverse features a left-profile portrait of Lady Liberty as she walks toward the sun cresting over a mountain, draped in the American flag. The reverse features the iconic Heraldic Eagle designed by U.S. Mint chief engraver, John Mercanti. Each round arrives in remarkable condition housed in a new direct fit capsule.
