The American Silver Eagle debuted in 1986, quickly becoming one of the most popular silver coins in the world. In just a few short years, the American Silver Eagle was the most produced, collected, and sought-after coin.

 

 

The featured 2010 American Silver Eagle is in its 25th year of issue. Since its debut, the coin has remained unchanged, and it’s just as popular as ever.

 

The coin’s obverse side features the Walking Liberty image, originally designed by Adolph A. Weinman for the 1917 Walking Liberty half dollar. The reverse features John Mercanti’s iconic Heraldic Eagle.

 

 

American silver eagles are the most liquid silver bullion coins in the world, often selling at a much higher premium than most other coins. The mintage of Silver Eagles typically triples the next three most produced coins: the Maple Leaf, Britannia, and the Philharmonic, which average roughly 5 million coins each year.
