In Greek mythology, Lady Justice was considered one of the four virtues of Aristotle. In ancient Rome, she was known as Justitia, the goddess of Justice. Eventually, most of the civilized world would adopt some form of a justice system. She’s often depicted wearing a blindfold while holding a scale.
The reverse of the coin features Lady Justice blindfolded on a mountaintop, holding both a sword and a scale. The obverse features the Gibraltar coat of arms along with the Royal Arms of England.
