Britannia has been the national symbol of Great Britain since the 18th century. For almost four decades, the Britannia has been the Royal Mints flagship coin.
Beginning in 2013, the Britannia’s purity was increased to .999 fine with the design remaining the same ever since. Prior to 2013, odd numbered years had different designs struck in relatively low numbers.
Today, Britannia proofs feature different designs from the most highly skilled artists highly favored by investors and collectors alike.
The featured 2022 Britannia is proof struck in 1 troy oz of .999 pure silver. The obverse bears the first official portrait of King Charles III by Martin Jennings.
The reverse side features a new design by famed artist Dan Thorne. Britannia is depicted behind a sea that lead to a burst of sun rays. A beautiful representation of Britannia’s maritime connection.
Direct from the mint, each coin is absolutely pristine and arrives in the Royal Mint signature display box. A numbered certificate of authenticity along with an information booklet is also included.
