The American Silver Eagle is the US’s official silver bullion coin. Since its debut in 1986, the American Silver Eagle has become one of the most popular and sought-after coins. Nearly 3 decades after its release, the coin was redesigned for the first time.
The obverse featuring a rendition of Adolph A. Weinman’s Walking Liberty design was slightly enhanced. The coins date was enlarged along with a new security feature added to the reeded edge.
The heraldic eagle by chief engraver of the US Mint, John Mercanti was replaced with a new design by Emily Damstra. The reverse features The Majestic bald eagle in intricate detail about to land while clutching an olive branch.
