The Lion of England is one of the most recognized symbols of the British Monarchy. Great Britain’s coat of arms has featured the iconic image since the reign of King Richard I, “The Lionheart”.
The 2024 English Lion is the second release in the European mint’s new “heraldic series.” The coin is struck in 1 troy oz of .9999 fine silver with a lustrous finish.
The coin’s obverse has the Island of Niue’s public seal. The reverse depicts the majestic lion in a salient position, similar to the rampart. In heraldry, this means having both hind legs grounded and the forelegs raised in a striking stance.
Recently released, the 2024 English Lion is truly remarkable. Each coin arrives in pristine condition, housed in a new, airtight capsule.
