Johnson Matthey was founded in 1807 as a small refinery. Over the course of 2 centuries, the company grew into a multi-billion dollar international company.
From the late 70s until the early 80s, Johnson Matthey was the world’s largest supplier of silver bullion. In 2015, the precious metals division was sold to Asahi Mint & Refining.
The Johnson Matthey 1 oz silver “Logo” bar is one of the most popular silver bars ever struck. The obverse features “JM” alongside their brand name. The bar’s weight, content, purity, and serial number are also on the obverse.
The reverse is struck with a repeating pattern of their iconic Johnson Matthey logo, which consists of two crossed hammers. The bar is finished with a beautiful mirror-like luster.
