The 2023 Alexander III Faberge egg $1 coin celebrates one of the six famous eggs that disappeared, never to be seen again. Fabergé Easter eggs were created by goldsmith and jeweler Peter Carl Fabergé for the Russian royal family during the late 19th century.
The stunning eggs were crafted with precious metals and gemstones with various other surprises hidden inside. Each egg would open up, concealing a hidden gift that included gems, watches, portraits, and even a tiny train.
The Alexander III egg was created for Nicholas II, who gave it to his mother, Empress Maria Feodorovna. The coin was in honor of his father, who had passed away 15 years earlier.
Struck by the Mint of Poland, the 2023 Niue Fabergé egg coin is proof struck in 16.81 grams of .999 fine silver. Mintage was set at just 999 coins.
The Faberge silver coin series are among the most magnificent coins ever minted. Direct from the mint, the coin arrives in an elegant display case along with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
