The Wedge-tailed Eagle series began in 2014 when U.S. Chief Engraver John Mercanti collaborated with the Perth Mint. Each year features a new wedged-tail eagle design on the reverse designed by Mercanti himself.
He chose the wedged-tail eagle because of its distinctive wing design, believing it would strike beautifully on a coin, and he was right. His vision and attention to the smallest details give the wedge-tailed eagle a lifelike appearance.

The obverse features the fifth effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. With the passing of her majesty, this will be the last year that her portrait appears on the coin. The remainder of the series will feature King Charles III.
This beautiful wedge-tailed eagle is struck in one troy ounce of .9999 fine silver in a proof like finish. Fresh from the mint, each coin is in remarkable condition and arrives in it’s original Direct Fit capsule. |
