The 2023 Barbados coin is the 3rd issue in the popular Spherical coin series by MDM mint ( Münzhandelsgesellschaft mbH & Co.) with a mintage of only 2,999 coins.

The 2023 Barbados Spherical Earth is inspired by Earth’s last ice age when glaciers covered the majority of the planet. The spherical coin was awarded the most Innovative coin of the year at the COTY Awards.

This spherical coin does not have a typical obverse or reverse side. The obverse is considered the bottom of the ball-shaped coin which features the Barbados national coat of arms. A dolphin and pelican hold the National shield, which bears a fig tree, a helmet, and crossed sugarcane stalks.

The coin is designed to look like a replica of Earth during the last ice age with the obverse floating in the middle of the ocean. The reverse side of the coin is covered with blue and white to represent the water and ice that covered most of the earth during this time..

The 2023 barbados spherical coin is absolutely pristine condition direct from the mint, The coin Is housed in a beautiful custom  transparent display case visible on all sides secured with an outer box. Also included is a numbered certificate of authenticity.
