Though there are many modified silver coins, this one’s on a completely different level. The combination of gold and black platinum work beautifully together. Both images of Lady Liberty and the bald eagle are gilded in 24 karat gold.
Black platinum layers the fields on both sides of the coin. The addition of ruthenium gives the platinum a beautiful black satin finish. Due to its inert properties,
ruthenium keeps the coin from toning.
The coin’s obverse shows Old Glory in the background, with the stars in gold and the stripes in alternating gold and black platinum. On the reverse, 24 karat gold stars surround the bald eagle against a black platinum background.
This special edition has a mintage of only 500 coins selling out in just a few days. Each coin arrives in a custom capsule placed inside a theme designed outer sleeve.
