The Engelhard brand is known for its exceptional quality. The business began as a small refinery in New Jersey in 1902. In less than a century, they grew into a multinational, billion-dollar company.

Engelhard was  also one of the largest suppliers of PGMs, silver, and gold throughout the world. Engelhard also produced bullion bars and rounds in a variety of sizes throughout the 1980s.

The last bars minted by Engelhard were over four decades ago. Their 1-ounce silver bar is still one of the most popular and sought-after bars by collectors and coin enthusiasts.

Unlike today’s bars that feature fancy artwork, their bars were simple and classy, featuring their logo along with the weight, purity, and serial number.  In later years, a second logo was introduced: the tall “E” inside of a globe, with a bull at the tip of the letter E.
