The heraldic animals were attributed by the ancestors of the British Monarchy in a tradition that goes back over 9 centuries. The Queen’s beasts are the 10 heraldic animals attributed to Queen Elizabeth II.
Each Beast features a coat of arms or shield that represents an ancestral family associated with the Queen. They trace back to first beast, the Lion of England, which is attributed to King Edward I, known as ” the lionheart”.
The 2019 Queens Beast is struck in 1/4 oz of .9999 pure gold in a lustrous finish. The fifth effigy of Queen Elizabeth II is depicted on the obverse. The reverse features the Falcon of the Plantagenets with wings outstretched.
