The Pysanka coin series began in 2016, celebrating the Pysanka Easter eggs popular in Ukrainian culture. The Orthodox Christians believe the Pysanka eggs ward off evil and misfortune. The design elements and motifs are a reflection of the community one comes from.

The obverse is graced with an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The reverse features symbols representing our connection with Earth. Some of these remarkable designs were found on pottery as far back as the Neolithic era.

The 2024 Canada Pysanka silver egg-shaped coin is proof struck in 1 troy oz of .9999 fine silver.  With only 7500 coins struck, they sold out within days of their release.
